Seeing as I live and work in West London it is not often I venture to the East of the city, but for this little gem I may have to make it a more regular occurrence. Foxcroft and Ginger is a stylish eatery run by a husband and wife team, and although the quirky décor is somewhat unfinished, it makes you feel immediately at home.

As soon as you walk in you are greeted with fresh bread, homemade cakes and vibrant salads. They make the mouth water and you start to feel excited for what is to come.

Foxcroft and Ginger are renowned for their brunch menu and it’s no wonder really! I visited with one of my friends who is an avid brunch goer and she was highly impressed by the menu. Most brunch spots in the capital have either not enough variety or too much choice, but Foxcroft & Ginger succeed in getting the balance right. They provide a wide choice of dishes while not being overwhelming.

The menu tailors to all tastes whether it be a much needed hangover classic like French Toast (with a twist may I add!) to a healthy smoked salmon, avocado and tomato salad on sourdough. The portion sizes were incredibly generous and I couldn’t fault the presentation – we had food envy of every dish we saw!

One word of advice would be to go with an appetite as the homemade cakes are way too tempting to pass up! The selection includes everything from an almond tart to carrot cake or a chocolate truffle brownie, and they even offer gluten free options too. This dining spot also takes its coffee very seriously with a good seasonal selection of flavours which are brewed using purified water that gives the coffee a smooth clean taste.

A laid back all day dining spot, Foxcroft & Ginger also caters for lunch and dinner with a range of gourmet sandwiches, exotic salads and sourdough pizzas. With such great service, an inviting décor and mouth-watering dishes, I would highly recommend a visit.
