Racing: Hannah and Andrew Broggio owned Whenharrymetsally wins
It was Whenharrymetsally – owned by Hannah and Andrew Broggio – who was the winner on the race day at Chipley Park and took the honours on this occasion. The Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association is the voice of British breeding and it represents thoroughbreds within the sport of racing. Chipley Park in Somerset hosted the second event in a series of 12 of Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association Club Members’ races for fillies and mares.
Point-to-point fixtures are an important part of the winter racing season. This Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association Club Members’ race for fillies and mares took place at Chipley Park in Somerset. The course is considered to be undulating with a long sweeping bend into home straight and a 120 yard uphill run-in. Ridden by Matt Hampton, Whenharrymetsally ran an impressive race. The horse showed great determination to overcome the favourite by two lengths. Owners, Hannah and Andrew Broggio, were delighted with the victory and this win followed several successful outings previously.
With an interest in film, they named her after the movie starring Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal. The mare is trained in North Devon by Keith Cumings, who bought her as a three-year-old from Tattersalls Ireland’s Derby Sale.
Sunday’s race was the second in a series of 12 TBA-sponsored point-to-points for fillies and mares. The next one takes place at Barbury Castle in Wiltshire on Sunday, February 14. Point-to-points are great social occasions that you can enjoy with friends and family. There is plenty of winter racing to experience this year across the country.
It comes ahead of the start of the British Summer Social Season, where Cheltenham Festival will no doubt prove to a be highlight on the calendar for many.
