MARS Badminton Horse Trials 2025 Fashion Report: The Second Horse Inspection
It was a delight to wake up to yet another glorious day at the MARS Badminton Horse Trials. The weather has been fantastic for this year’s event, which has become a popular fixture in our renowned guide to the British Social Season.
A large crowd gathered for this morning’s Second Horse Inspection, which took place in front of Badminton House.

The Duke and Duchess of Beaufort were among the VIP guests watching proceedings and a substantial number of spectators filled the stands.
It was wonderful to see so many horses looking fresh and happy after yesterday’s cross country phase. The final test takes place today for those who passed the Second Horse Inspection and they will head into the main arena to tackle the showjumping course.
The riders appeared on fantastic form this morning as they presented their horses, with many stylish outfits on show and smart presentation throughout.
Holland Cooper, Fairfax & Favor, Hicks & Brown were all spotted on various riders. These – and many other brands that are popular with the chic country set – all have popup boutiques on site that you can visit today.
For those eager to see some of the style that was on show at this morning’s Second Horse Inspection, here is our much-anticipated Fashion Report from the Mars Badminton Horse Trials 2025…

Among the female riders presenting their horses was Georgie Goss. Georgie stood out from the crowd in a stunning pair of cerise pink trousers, which were teamed with a Holland Cooper belt and a cream jacket.
Meanwhile, Emily King looked very sophisticated in a nautical-inspired jacket, which she wore with loose trousers and on-trend wedge pumps.

Knee high boots were a popular choice for some of the riders, with Ros Canter presenting Lordships Gruffalo wearing a beautiful tan pair.
Fairfax & Favor boots are often worn by the riders at the trot up and they have a large store in the shopping village where you can browse their latest collection.
Jonelle Price wore a beautiful cream coat, which received many admiring glances from the crowd.
Considering the lovely warm weather, it came as no suprise to see some more floaty dresses in the Second Horse Inspection this morning.
Kate Rocher-Smith looked extremely elegant in a navy and white polka dot dress, with a sparkling headband. Meanwhile, Kirsty Chabert wore a lovely black and white dress, with tan boots.
Flared trousers were also a popular choice. Lara de Liedekerke-Meier was seen wearing these in brown, with Bubby Upton pairing black flares with a beautiful white blouse.
Although white trousers have also been a popular choice for riders at the Horse Inspection, they were less prevalent this year. Gemma Stevens was seen in this staple, with a smart jacket.
The gentlemen also impressed with many opting for a classic cut suit. Panama hats were also on show, as well as contrasting jackets and ties.
The baker boy cap continues to be a fashionable choice for some and especially those who went for a smart casual look. Jack Mantel matched his with a shirt that featured a large check print.
Ireland’s Austin O’Connor chose a pink tie for the occasion and Britain’s Harry Meade opted for pale blue trousers. Overnight leader Oliver Townend donned shades for the ocassion.
Germany’s Jérôme Robiné was very smart in his formal military attire.
