Black Chalk announces artist collaboration for The Other Art Fair
Black Chalk Wine has announced a collaboration with Southeast London based artist, James D Wilson, which will be unveiled at The Other Art Fair in October.
Wilson will create a vibrant mural inspired by the winemaking process, Black Chalk’s architecture and the surrounding Hampshire landscape, including the estate’s four Test Valley vineyards. Using his distinctive approach of fragmentation, layering and reduction, he will distil these influences into a work that captures the movement and character of the place.

Black Chalk is the Official Wine Partner of The Other Art Fair, a London-based event which showcases the best in independent and emerging artists. It is an association which underlines this wine estate’s dedication to creativity and exploration. The roots of Black Chalk (launched in 2018) come from the world of art; Black Chalk is the material used by the old masters when sketching outlines onto their canvas prior to painting.
Wilson’s mural will create the backdrop to Black Chalk’s stand at The Other Art Fair, where the team will host drop-in tastings and a programme of workshop sessions; these will take an alternative approach to traditional wine tasting and will include an artistic element.
The Other Art Fair will take place from 9th to 12th October at Truman Brewery (tickets via: theotherartfair.com)
