The daily commute to work can be a real drag. No matter how you choose to commute in the city, there’s no denying it can be both a stressful and a boring experience. However, these days there’s a lot of different items out there that are designed specifically for city commuters.

Here, we’ll look at some of the must haves for a city commuter that will make the journey that little more bearable and even potentially enjoyable!

A Fitbit

One way you can look forward to your daily commute, is to invest in a Fitbit. Allowing you track your daily activity, you can use the Fitbit to see just how many steps or calories you’ve burnt during your commute.

Obviously, if you drive or take the train, you’re not going to fit in as much activity as you would if you walked or cycled to your place of work. However, you could always try and come up with unique ways to burn additional calories on your commute. For example, you could park the car further away and walk the rest of the journey.

Noise cancelling headphones

Listening to music is one of the best ways to make the commute fly by. However, you don’t want to annoy other commuters with your music so why not invest in a good pair of noise-cancelling headphones. You can pick up some pretty decent headphones that will allow you to listen to your favourite tracks as loud as you want, while also cancelling out any noise from outside. Remember, the more you pay the more you’ll get out of noise cancelling headphones so don’t be afraid to splash out on a decent pair.

An electric bicycle

There’s a lot of different ways you can commute to work in the city, and an electric bicycle is definitely one of the best. Not only will it help you to burn a lot of calories, giving you a great daily workout, but it’s also good for the environment and more convenient and reliable than taking public transportation.

If the journey starts to get a little tough, kick in the electric power and glide to work. You can even invest in foldable electric bicycles which make carrying them around a lot easier. This also allows you to cycle part of the way and then simply fold up the bike to take with you on public transportation.

Lightweight gloves and a breathable lightweight jacket

Of course, you can’t enjoy your daily commute if you aren’t wearing the right outfit! The weather can often be unpredictable, so it’s a good idea to invest in lightweight gloves and a breathable lightweight jacket. These will hep to keep you warm and comfortable, whilst also protecting you against the elements.

So, if you commute to work in the city, why not consider investing in any of the above? With so many things out there which are designed to make daily commutes easier and more enjoyable, there’s no reason to suffer a boring, uncomfortable journey. However you usually commute, there’s always something you can invest in to enhance the experience.
