The Veg Grower’s Almanac: Month by Month Planning and Planting
By Jon Charles
Martyn Cox has authored a charming collection of practical advice for gardeners in his latest book, which is called The Veg Grower’s Almanac.
Growing your own vegetables is so rewarding. In fact, The Sloaney team produced our own chillies throughout the summer thanks to the warm weather in London. It was a great feeling to pick them from a home-grown plant before using them in a collection of dishes.
However, for those trying to grow a more significant range of produce, it can be a tricky business. Even the most experienced of gardeners will occasionally need to turn to a trusted source for some advice. Thanks to The Veg Grower’s Almanac, that trusty advice is now readily available in a handy sized book.
The book, which has some lovely sketches, includes month-by-month tips and key items of interest. Most importantly it gives you advance notice for growing some of the best seasonal varieties and also teaches you how to prepare your garden accordingly.
This is an essential guide for all budding (and experienced) gardeners.
The Veg Grower’s Almanac is published in Hardback by BBC Books and is available for a price of £9.99
