The Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival
The Sloaney’s British Summer Social Season Guide is expanding every year and it now includes a number of the leading regional events that take place throughout Britain.
One of the highlights is the Pommery Dorset Seafood Festival, which we attended for the first time this year.
With glorious sunshine, plenty of popup Pommery Champagne bars, amazing seafood stalls and the sandy beach of Weymouth a stone’s throw away from the yacht moorings, this is definitely one date that should be reserved in the calendar for future summers to come.
The festival is perfect for a family excursion and there is plenty to interest both children and adults. The main reason for the event is to help people gain a better understanding of the incredible seafood that is available to us on British shores. There are amazing cooking demonstrations by local chefs, including Nigel Bloxham who is the owner of the acclaimed Crab House Café and Pete Miles owner of the Cruel Sea.
We went along to soak up the atmosphere and were lucky enough to spend the day on the Pommery yacht. Watch our sneak preview on Sloaney TV, presented by our Editor, Laura Toogood here…
