Spa Illuminata’s phenomenal technology-driven facial
I am so excited to share my latest spa discovery with readers of The Sloaney. Not only have I found a truly beautiful pampering zone in Mayfair, but I have also come across an utterly incredible facial treatment.
I visited Spa Illuminata prior to flying out of London for a recent travel feature in Morocco. As a result of a hectic start to spring, my skin had begun to appear lacklustre and in need of a facial that would deliver strong results. I wanted to make sure it looked in top condition for my trip to a warmer climate.
I had never been to the grand Spa Illuminata before and I was intrigued to learn about their 3D-skintech that is offered to clients. It uses non-surgical methods and advanced technology to help with anti-aging, brightening and clarity. The process is highly sophisticated and combines traditional facial massages with progressive methods such as light therapy, mesotherapy and radio frequency.

The treatment was certainly the most complex I have received to date, but I was guided through each stage by an expert therapist. The more traditional phases of the facial experience, such as the exfoliation and moisturising, were typical of any luxury treatment. The key differentiating factors of the intensive skincare procedure were the microdermabrasion and radio frequency. I believe it was these elements that were responsible for the terrific results.
The microdermabrasion involved general facial peeling; however, the sophisticated tools used at Spa Illuminata allow the treatment to be adjusted in intensity according to the demands of your skin. My peel was relatively powerful and this helps to even out the pigmentation, reduce blocked pores and provide a very soft surface.
The Spa offers bespoke, machine-led facials
The radio frequency part that followed was extraordinary. I cannot say that it was completely pain free but as with the microdermabrasion tool, the intensity can be adjusted to make sure you feel as comfortable as possible. The lower intensity provides a crackling feel as the skin is stimulated and the muscles tighten. The idea behind the radio frequency is that it will help ensure the products reach deep into your skin. It also stimulates the cells that produce collagen and elastin. This specifically helps with anti-aging by reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
If you are very brave with regards to the vigour of each stage, you will experience dramatic results. Nevertheless, a significant improvement will be noticeable even if you stick with the lower levels. A calming and soothing massage was welcomed after the radio frequency. However, the real treat was yet to come.
To complete my facial, I was led into the relaxation room for light therapy. The Beauty Angel Energizing Light Technology helps rejuvenate and revitalise your skin. I was able to lie back on a soft bed as the machine was placed over my face for 20 minutes. This proved a great warm up for my trip to La Mamounia in Morocco and the technology encourages a brighter complexion after only one session.
The relaxation room
As I left the impressive surroundings of Spa Illuminata my skin was positively glowing. Aside from producing an excellent immediate improvement, this bespoke treatment excelled in giving long-lasting results. During the following days and even as I write (almost a week later), I am still experiencing fantastic benefits. My skin is silky to touch, exceptionally even and completely revitalised. This is definitely one of the most remarkable and possibly the most remarkable treatments that I have ever experienced. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
