The Royal Bath and West Show: The Wadworth Shires
The Avon and Somerset Police Horses give demonstrations that offer insight into some of the tactics that they use for crowd control. During the display they also show the crowd how they train the horses to confront smoke and fire with no fear!
We bumped into the impressive Wadworth Shires while strolling through the extensive showground. These gentle giants stand at over 18hands high and remain working horses today. They deliver the beers, wines and spirits on weekdays to pubs within a two mile radius of the Brewery. They are in magnificent condition and when they work as a pair they are able to transport a load of approximately two tons.

There are lots of animals on show at the Bath and West, including prize winning bulls, various breeds of hens, as well as different types of goats, to name just a few.
The amusement arcade includes a big wheel that gives you panoramic views of the showground. The retail therapy is also great and there are many shops for those who want to pick up some unique interior design pieces or lifestyle fashion items. The Champagne Cave is a popular place to visit and the beer tents are also very busy with people sampling different ales.
