In recent years there has been a lot of hype about IV drips. The pros and the cons have been discussed at length, along with the celebrity and festival following. To be honest, I was a sceptic when I was invited to experience one for myself but also intrigued to see what it was actually like.

Located in Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge Beauty Bazaar is REVIV, the global leader specialising in vitamin and nutrient IV infusions and injections. Launched in 2011, four emergency room physicians came together with a common thought to bring IV therapies to private spa-like environments, making them easily accessible and affordable to the mass population.

I felt immediately reassured by Medical Director Dr Michael Barnish, a GP who works both privately and within the NHS. He informed me about how the founding physicians have a deep understanding of the use and safety of IV therapies and supplementation – more than any other specialty in medicine – because they apply these therapies daily in the ER setting. A principle maintained throughout all REVIV clinics which are led by highly qualified doctors and nurses whom adhere to stringent medical and safety protocols. All REVIV medical staff are licensed and trained paramedics and nurses with years of experience. This certainly eased any nerves.

Designed to target a variety of wellness needs by replenishing hydration, aiding recovery from illness or jet lag, providing hangover relief, restoring vitamin & nutrient levels, refreshing cosmetic appearance and revitalizing your overall well being, REVIV offers something for everyone.

Following a consultation about my current concerns, I chose a Megaboost vitamin infusion combined with a Vitaglow booster. This was administered into my vein as a drip. The Megaboost is the signature IV therapy and consists of a high dose of Vitamin C. It boosts the immune system, detoxifies and brings the body back towards a healthy equilibrium. The Vitaglow also improves the appearance of hair, skin and nails, which is ideal for the autumn rush and seasonal parties.

IV therapies can be as fast as 10minutes for the Vitaglow and 45minutes for the Royal flush, which makes it easily obtainable during your lunch break. The effects can be felt immediately but tend to fully develop over a 24 hour period whilst benefits can continue to be experienced for up to one month.

I would highly recommend booking yourself in for a session if you are not feeling your best and could do with an extra lift. It is also ideal for those looking to get some added glow that stems from within, prior to a big occasion.

In addition to the REVIV London flagship clinic at Harvey Nichols REVIV has additional Flagship locations in the United Kingdom in Cheshire and Leeds and Liverpool. Concierge IV hydration drips are available at all REVIV flagship clinics by appointment. Prices for IV start at £99 for Infusion.
