Champagne Pommery releases Cuvée Louise 2002
Pommery has released a new vintage of Cuvée Louise and some experts are billing it as the greatest yet. 2002 has become known as one of the best years in the last decade for champagne and ever since Champagne Pommery released their first cuvee, it has been dedicated to the daughter of the founders, Louise.
As one of the largest owners of Grand Cru sites in Champagne, Pommery does not struggle for great fruit. In 2002 the Cuvée Louise is composed of 60% Chardonnay from Avize and Cremant and 40% Pinot Noir from Ay, aged on lees for over 8 years.
This latest vintage is either for the cellar or it can be enjoyed now. Great older vintages of Cuvée Louise are incredibly difficult to come by and trade at significant premiums; however, there is a special offer currently available through Bordeaux Index.
