During our visit to the Irish Gold Cup at Leopardstown, eagle-eyed readers will have seen that we discovered a fantastic bar that is just a stone’s throw away from the famous racecourse. The Leopardstown Inn, which is known to locals and regulars as The Lep is a hidden gem that is tucked away in one of Dublin’s plushest suburbs.
This gastro pub is the place to go for those in the know during the major sporting occasions such as the 6 Nations and the key racing fixtures. The atmosphere when watching such events from the comfort of The Lep is brilliant. It is also well worth making the trip from the city centre to enjoy a cocktail at their impressive bar.
The Leopardstown Inn
We initially visited as a group of girls and this venue is perfect for hosting special celebrations. It has an excellent food menu but also serves generous platters, which are ideal for sharing with friends. The Leopardstown Inn also lends itself well to a quiet drink as a couple and the menu boasts a good selection of quality wines, craft beers and classic cocktails.
The décor is stunning and its extravagance will take you by surprise when you first arrive because The Lep situated in a discreet location. The atmosphere is particularly fun and the service is friendly and relaxed.
With the racecourse only a short distance away, this is the place to frequent for a Bloody Mary before you head to the track or to celebrate with your winnings afterwards. While the Irish Gold Cup is a highlight of the winter season, Bulmers Live at Leopardstown takes centre stage in the summer months. From June through to August, you can enjoy the combination of horse racing, live music and festival food at the racecourse and the Leopardstown Inn will welcome you afterwards to continue the fun.
