What to see at Chelsea Flower Show 2024: A rundown of the horticultural highlights at this year’s top RHS event
The RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2024 is packed with horticultural delights. For those visiting the show this year, we have selected a few highlights in terms of planning your day and considering what to see at Chelsea Flower Show 2024.
There are breathtaking floral displays in The Great Pavilion and the show gardens that line the Main Avenue are thought-provoking and beautifully designed. We also have some shopping highlights and don’t forget to pop into the Pommery Champagne Terrace when you need a rest from browsing the showground.
Among the highlights is RHS Britain in Bloom 60th Anniversary: The Friendship Garden, which has been designed by James and Jon Wheatley. This garden is a celebration of the amazing friendships that form when people garden together in their communities. It has been created to mark the hugely positive impact that gardening has in the UK, with the view that everyone can garden and it doesn’t have to be an overly complicated process.
RHS Chelsea Repurposed is a garden that centres on the issue that the world’s resources are limited and sustainability is at the core of the design, which has been spearheaded by Cityscapes. There is also a focus on how green spaces can empower cities with St James’s Piccadilly: Imagine the World to be Different concentrating on multi-layered, lush greenery.
Headline sponsors, The Newt in Somerset, have presented a stunning display in the form of The Roman Garden (pictured above). It is located in the main showground and features a style of design from the 1st century AD, which showcases beautiful architecture and lighting.
Within the Great Pavilion, visitors can admire stunning floral presentations. The David Austin Roses garden is a highlight and this impresses every year. Ramblers, climbers and various shrub roses adorn the display area and the aroma is simply divine.
Meanwhile, the individual collections of peonies, sweet peas, fuchsias, alliums, daffodils (and much more!) all look as impressive as always. There are also some fabulous floral installations for visitors to enjoy.
The Great Pavilion is a place to feel inspired if you are looking ahead to future bulb planting or want to see the very best floral produce from each season.
The Bonsai trees are delicate and beautiful, with the showcase of Salvias also another highlight for those planning some priorities when giving thought about what to see at Chelsea Flower Show 2024.
