The Grand Opening of the luxurious InterContinental London Westminster
Last week The Sloaney team attended the Grand Opening of the new InterContinental London Westminster. The extravagant party certainly made an impact on the social scene with a number leading names from the world of politics and high society attending the plush affair. Champagne – Laurent Perrier to be specific – and canapés welcomed guests who were greeted on arrival by a traditional band that were turning heads on the streets outside with their lively tunes.

As MPs and political broadcasters mingled in the lounge area of the hotel, those with hunger pangs could venture to one of the grand dining areas to enjoy a magnificent display of sweets. Macaron Trees, ice cream and tropical cocktails presented a delicious pre or post dinner treat and savoury samples from the main restaurant menu were also available. Exciting conversations and plenty of laughter could be heard throughout the reception and entertainment during dinner included a fun puppet show.

The luxury hotel is located in the heart of Westminster in a historic 19th century building that was once Queen Anne’s Chamber. The decadent but polished interior makes it a contemporary and luxurious choice for an overnight stay, dinner reservation or Afternoon Tea indulgence.
