Dublin Special: House Dublin is a sophisticated venue that caters for all occasions

The final installment of our Dublin Special focuses on the fabulous House Dublin, which is a fantastic venue in the centre of town. House Dublin occupies two Georgian Townhouses on Leeson Street, which is just a short walk from St Stephen’s Green and in an upmarket area of the city.

House Dublin is one of the most impressive venues that we have visited for a long time and it suits a variety of occasions. It is not dissimilar in feel to the smart London venue, Ivy Chelsea Garden, but it is much bigger and boasts more impressive décor. There are log fires burning daily in the Front Parlour and an additional Salon Bar and Conservatory area. Meanwhile, the Terrace and Garden feature their own olive trees and there is a Glass House, Wine Room, Library and a nightclub called the Redroom, more on that later.

House Dublin channels a relaxed, yet glamorous vibe and it caters very well for a special occasion. We visited with our editorial team for a celebration in honour of our Bride-to-be Katie Ann Lamb and House Dublin ticked every box for a memorable evening.

The dinner menu is a brilliant selection of tapas dishes, which are perfect to share with friends. Highlights include the Antipasti Board, which offers a selection of charcuterie meats, cheeses and warm breads. Among other delicious options are the pan-fried scallops and also the lemon and honey chicken skewers. The portions are very generous in size and you can stagger your order throughout the evening. You couldn’t ask for a more sociable dining experience.

The cocktails are particularly good at House Dublin but there is an extensive wine list too with a number of styles that are available to purchase as magnums – this is a great touch for a special occasion.

House is one of the most in-demand places to visit in Dublin and we were joined by a number of Irish celebrities from the worlds of film, television and fashion during our visit. Many of the VIPs gathered in the Conservatory but there is a huge outdoor area that is also partially covered and features roaring fires to keep guests warm during the winter months.

There are various bars throughout the venue and you can choose a different room to suit your mood. However, one of the best things about House Dublin is that it really does cater for you throughout the entire night. While the upstairs bars remain open to the early hours, there is also a nightclub in the basement. This is known as the Redroom and the decor is opulent.

The Redroom combines opulent luxury with privacy and comfort for the ultimate night of drinking and dancing. The music is excellent and there is also personal service for those with table bookings throughout the evening.

House Dublin has everything under one roof and does it all in style. This charming and chic venue will leave you wanting for nothing.
