There are electric bikes and then there is the Eco Voltz Eventer. This is, quite simply, in a category of its own. The Eco Voltz Eventer is an outstanding off-road electric bike, which makes cycling through fields, rough paths and forest tracks easier than ever before.
The Eco Voltz Eventer has been designed predominantly to assist the equestrian market and in particular those who compete in the sport of Eventing. The Sloaney team first came across Eco Voltz during the start of this year’s British Social Season at Badminton Horse Trials, where they had a popup boutique in the shopping village that was located near to Badminton House.
After watching one of the grooms cycle through Badminton Estate with ease and keeping up a good pace with her horse and rider partnership, we were keen to find out more about the use of the Eventer model.
Of course, when competing in big international events, there is naturally a lot of walking involved. Whether it is from the stable yard to the main arena or around an undulating cross-country course. The Eco Voltz Eventer makes these treks a lot easier and it saves on time too. The bike is also used by trainers when they are following riders during a coaching session or when out on a hack.
This is where this model comes into its own and it has a much broader appeal that just the Eventing market. As anyone who has young pony-mad children will appreciate, keeping up with them is hard work as they grow up. It is all about doing more trot and more canter, with parents often left searching for running shoes and trailing in the dust.

For those who live in hilly areas or fancy lunch in a remote country pub at the weekend, you can cycle with ease to your destination and also take short cuts via any bridlepaths or off-road routes open for use. It is also ideal for discovering discreet picnic spots, which could otherwise be hard to reach.
We have found that the Eco Voltz Eventer is a particularly excellent option for those looking to commute to work across different types of terrain. It makes cycling fun and easy. The terrain is so much more accessible and it obviously flies through any city roads.
The bike is also simple to transport and fits comfortably into the boot of a 4×4 car (and probably other car models too). It folds up and splits in half, so it significantly reduces in size.
The wheels are particularly impressive and their width is crucial for ensuring you are as comfortable as possible on your journey. The electric component of the bike is very easy to use and there are five levels of assistance. As an incline increases, you simply have to ask the bike to help you a little bit more. The additional power is incredible and makes it possible to glide up hills that would otherwise seem ridiculous to tackle on a bike.
If you need to walk with the bike for any reason, it is quite heavy but there is a walk assist mode to help you stroll smoothly. The charging time is 4-6 hours and this enables you to ride for between 25 and 40 miles, depending upon the terrain and power settings that you use. There are some helpful accessories that you can also buy and these include a top-quality lock and a spacious pannier.
