As the weather starts to deteriorate and the festive season approaches, memories of the warm summer evenings are fading rapidly. While many of you are likely to be planning an escape to warmer climes this winter, there is no need to wait until the Christmas rush.

In fact, one of the world’s premier events is taking place later this month and provides the perfect excuse to escape the first of the frosty mornings.

The Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is arguably the Middle East’s biggest event and provides a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the sport but also explore the highlights in the local area. The event concludes the Formula 1 season and is due to attract plenty of famous faces and high society.

It takes place from the 21st to the 23rd of November and Air Partner will be offering various private flight packages from Europe’s top cities to whisk you away to the glittering soiree. This is an occasion not to be missed and there will be plenty of action to keep you entertained on the track and also lots to keep you occupied outside the fast-paced world of Formula 1.

Here is our guide to making the most of your trip…

Where to stay…

Whether you want to stay for just the weekend or extend the trip to make it a mini-holiday, it is definitely worth checking into the Jumeirah at Etihad Towers. The dramatic building provides guests with some of the best views of the Arabian Gulf. The luxury hotel has won numerous awards and boasts fabulous facilities, including three swimming pools a private beach and plenty of retail therapy nearby.

Where to shop…

Shopping is definitely something to prioritise during your trip to Abu Dhabi as you can purchase stunning jewellery and browse many designer collections. In fact, if you stay at Etihad Towers, one of the world’s most exclusive shopping areas will be right on your doorstep. Avenue at Etihad Towers hosts high-end designers and collections by Bulgari, Hermes, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Burberry, Mont Blanc, Versace and Tom Ford, to name a few. Meanwhile The Galleria on Al Maryah Island is also a popular spot for those looking to indulge in some retail therapy. It boasts an equally impressive list of designer stores, including Jimmy Choo, Mulberry and Alexander McQueen.

Where to dine…

If you are a fan of Hakkasan in London you will be delighted to hear that you can dine at the same restaurant in Abu Dhabi. The layout echoes the London flagship restaurant but also features some local influences. The signature Hakkasan dishes are readily available and include the likes of Peking Duck with Caviar and Grilled Wagyu Beef with King Soy Sauce.

Where to have a spa treatment…

The Shangri-La Hotel is an enchanting destination and also offers one of the best spa menus in Abu Dhabi. A popular option is the Four Hands Harmonizing Massage at CHI, The Spa. All of the treatments available are inspired by Asian cultures and designed to take you to the height of tranquillity.
