Sloaney Season has begun and several of the most respected social events of summer lie ahead. Following the delights of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, we have the Investec Derby and Chestertons Polo in the Park coming up next on the calendar of prestigious events. Royal Ascot is also just around the corner, as well as the popular British Summer Time music festival, which is hosted in Hyde Park. There is plenty to keep you busy right up until Frieze London, which takes place during the autumn.

For the events that happen in London, or for those which are close to the British capital, it is well worth booking an overnight stay. This means you can make the most of the hours of entertainment that you will enjoy during the day at the race course, polo grounds or other venues and celebrate well into the evening. However, summer is a popular time to visit London and finding a convenient luxury hotel can be tricky.

We recently visited The Arch London, which is well located for some of the most popular events of Sloaney Season and provides a peaceful hideaway right in the heart of one of the plushest districts. The Arch London boasts chic décor and a sophisticated atmosphere. The design of the property was inspired by the famous London landmark, Marble Arch, which is just a stone’s throw away from the hotel. This property is conveniently located and is just a short distance from Hyde Park, which is where the A-list music stars will take to the stage for British Summer Time in July.

The beautiful building spans seven grade two mews homes and the interior design focuses heavily on art. In fact, the hotel acts as a showcase for some of the best up and coming British artists and eye-catching pieces are displayed throughout the various rooms.

The Arch London is an ideal option for those seeking to enjoy an upmarket stay in London. Apart from being well positioned for many of the leading events on the Sloaney Season calendar, you will also find yourself close to some of the city’s famous tourist hotspots and walking distance from the vast selection of shops that are located on Oxford Street, including Selfridges.

The accommodation at The Arch London is impressively quiet considering its central location and the hotel includes a number of luxury suites. Many of these are tucked away towards the back of the building, which means that a peaceful night of sleep is guaranteed.

The Westminster Suite offers the perfect option for hotel living and it is particularly good for those who are planning to attend an event for several days, such as Royal Ascot’s week long race meet. The spacious suite has two bedrooms and serves as a mini apartment, with a large entertainment lounge also included as well as a private courtyard and well-equipped contemporary kitchenette.

For a less extravagant but still premium choice of room, you can opt for an executive Junior Suite and these have king sized beds and are plenty spacious enough for an overnight stay. The standard rooms are also well furnished and individually designed to include opulent fabrics and hand printed wallpaper.

The Arch London has a notable restaurant in the form of Hunter 486 and it serves a menu that changes according to the season. It often includes British classics and the selection of seafood is very enticing. The dressed Dorset crab, avocado and pink grapefruit is a delicious starter and highlights among the list of main courses include the fillet of stone bass, sesame green beans, carrots, lemongrass and ginger broth, as well as lemon sole fillets, Jersey Royals, samphire and potted shrimp butter.

You can also opt for a hearty burger or generous meat dish such as the rack of lamb. The passionfruit cheesecake and sorbet is irresistible for pudding and the wine list presents many different pairing options for each course.

The décor of the bar helps to create a buzzing and fashionable atmosphere, with striking glass chandeliers casting light on the signature cocktails and champagne that is regularly ordered from the bartender. If you have spent the day toasting the tennis or raising a glass to the latest artwork on show at one of the top exhibitions, you can carry on your celebrations in the sophisticated surroundings of The Arch London. This is the perfect place to stay during Sloaney Season or while taking a special trip to the British capital.
