I recently had the privilege of spending a night at Hotel Le Richemond, which is the offering by the The Dorchester Collection in Geneva. Located on the north bank of the Lake, the hotel boasts sensational views of the famous Jet d’Eau and Mont Blanc whilst over looking Jardin Brunswick.

It is conveniently close to the business centre, train station and famous landmarks. So for those visiting the city, this hotel is the perfect destination for business, families or in my case a romantic retreat.

Hotel Le Richemond is part of the Dorchester Collection

Founded in 1875 by the Armleder family, the hotel certainly lives up to its description of ‘peerless comfort and elegance‘. It’s no wonder it attracts such distinguished and iconic guests. I was very impressed by the staff’s wealth of knowledge and genuine desire to ensure your stay is unforgettable, In fact, no request was unfeasible, which was a refreshing change.

Le Richemond has 109 rooms accommodating a variety of requirements such as Business, Leisure and Family. The 22 suites all feature a private balcony with breathtaking views. They also have state of the art facilities including a Nescafe coffee machines, multiple televisions – including one situated above the bath – and a walk in wardrobe that would make Carrie Bradshaw proud!

The hotel boasts spacious suites

At this hotel, you could be forgiven for not wanting to leave your room. The decoration is contemporary luxury but also warm and comfortable, which creates an ‘at home’ style of ambience.

The Dorchester collection has a strong culinary offering and Le Richemond lives up to this reputation with the acclaimed, award-winning Le Jardin Restaurant. Open daily for lunch and supper the menus offer Mediterranean inspired dishes. These are all made from delicious fresh and seasonal ingredients and you can enjoy fish, meat and comfort pasta dishes that boast Michelin-worthy presentation.

Our Waiter, Boris, was an asset in himself; his passion and experience pairing individual wines with the unique flavors of every plate served enabled you to experience a new level of gastronomic appreciation. Certainly an unforgettable and experience and worthy of the trip to the venue in order to try the restaurant alone!

Le Richemond’s Spa is exclusively the only Le Sisley in Switzerland, so whether you want to take advantage of the aromacology based treatments, the sauna and steam room or perhaps a personal trainer workout with idyllic views there is something for everyone!

While Geneva probably isn’t the first place you would think of for a weekend with its reputation for being a ‘business city’, my experience proved this very wrong. The city is clean, chic, charming and offered temperatures of 24 degrees in middle of October. Only 90 minutes from London with flights departing first thing Saturday morning and returning Sunday evening, one night away felt like a whole week of relaxation.
