It is hard to believe that it is 10 years since The Sloaney travel team first visited Oberlech and discovered the beautiful Goldener Berg Hotel. Nestled on the mountain, with an enviable ski-in, ski-out situation, this stunning hotel welcomes those looking to embark on a luxury ski holiday, with an added focus on wellness.
The Goldener Berg has always been an impressive property, but it has benefited from further enhancements since our first visit. Notably, there is now an outdoor swimming pool that boasts spectacular views of the mountains and this can be enjoyed after a hard day of skiing on the slopes.
As the steam rises into the darkness against a snowy backdrop, swimmers can make the most of a wonderfully atmospheric experience. This is a stunning new facility that enhances the hotel even further.
The spa at the Goldener Berg has always been a highlight of the property. There is an indoor swimming pool too, along with a number of treatment rooms that will help you to relax after being out and about in the mountains.
For those looking to mix winter sport – whether that is skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing or hiking – with plenty of spa relaxation too, the Goldener Berg Hotel will prove an ideal base.
There have been other tweaks made to the property ahead of the 2024/2025 winter ski season to ensure that the highest standards of luxury are maintained throughout. The sun terrace is as busy as ever during lunch hour and for those wishing to enjoy a table here, it is advisable that you book in advance.
Meanwhile, dinner at the Alter Goldener Berg is highly recommended. You will be welcomed by a roaring fire and the cheese fondue is sheer perfection! This season, the Sterntaler will be entertaining those wishing to enjoy traditional music during apres at the Alter Goldener Berg. The live performances take place from 3-5pm and will prove a highlight of any visit to this area of the mountains.
