The new Lacaze showroom showcases luxurious handmade furniture
Earlier this month, The Sloaney team attended the launch of a new showroom by Lacaze on the Kings Road in Chelsea. Glamorous guests were treated to chilled fizz and a selection of canapés at the sophisticated soiree, which showcased an impressive selection of key pieces for the home.
Bespoke furniture by Lacaze
Following our successful visit to Grand Designs Live, The Sloaney Lifestyle Section will have a more in-depth focus on Home and Garden over the coming months. With this in mind, the Lacaze event was aptly timed and provided us with an ideal opportunity to browse a stylish collection of bespoke furniture.
Founded by industry design duo Hanaa and Kay Chattun, Lacaze offers a tailor-made service to suit all tastes and design specifications. The range includes elegant beds, bespoke sofas and armchairs, fitted wardrobes and coffee tables. Each piece is handmade and uses the finest materials, fabrics, woods and lavish fillings to create a chic style for your home.
The pieces offer a sense of simple luxury
The intimate showroom is set over two floors and imitates various rooms of a house. As you walk through the different areas, all of the furniture on show appears very refined and pleasing to the eye. Rather than opting for an overly flamboyant feel, the pieces provide a sense of understated luxury.
The history behind Lacaze dates back to the childhood days of Hanaa and Kay Chattun. They were inspired to follow the path of interiors after watching their father create furniture within his home workshop. What started as carving chairs for their dolls soon expanded into larger projects. With the option of woodwork for girls dismissed within their school, both Hanaa and Kay continued to take lessons from their father who was in fact a design and woodwork lecturer.
Each design is handcrafted
In 2005 both sisters took the journey to London. After identifying a gap in the market for quality bespoke furniture, Hanaa and Kay dedicated their time to creating luxury pieces for both trade and consumers.
