It is coming up to that time of the year again when we start to think about Christmas and winter holidays. There is no need to venture too far away to enjoy the festive spirit and there are some incredible Christmas Markets in Britain. Here is a selection of some of the best Christmas Markets in Britain…


 

Bath Christmas Market

23rd November – 10th December 2017

Bath Abbey provides a stunning backdrop for this Christmas market, which is set in the beautiful World Heritage City. There are plenty of stalls and opportunities to enjoy mulled wine in the spa city, as well as excellent shopping in general.

Insider tip: Make a weekend of it and stay at the Royal Crescent Hotel for a luxurious treat.


 

Christmas in Edinburgh

East Princes Street Gardens: 18th November – 6th January 2017 ¦ George Street:  17th November – 24th December 2017

There are two Christmas Markets in Edinburgh, which is a city that really embraces the festive run and is particularly fantastic for New Year celebrations. The Christmas Markets are in East Princes Street Gardens and George Street. You may even get a snowflake on your visit to the north.

Winter Wonderland, London

Winter Wonderland is the ultimate Christmas Market in the UK and is one of the capital city’s top attractions at this time of year. It is busy but has everything you could wish for in a compact area, including fun rides and ice skating. It is certainly one of the best Christmas markets in Britain.

Insider tip: Make some time to shop at nearby Harrods – the Food Hall is particularly amazing at this time of year


 

Belfast Christmas Market

17th November – 23rd December 2017

Head across the Irish Sea to Belfast for the annual Belfast Christmas Market in City Hall. Inside the gates you will find hand-painted pottery, continental food, fancy festive decorations, and a wide range of festive arts and crafts from across Europe and beyond.

Insider tip: Tie it in with a spa trip by staying at Culloden Estate, which overlooks Belfast Lough and the coast


 

York Christmas Festival

16th November – 22nd December 2017

There are lots of festive attractions in York and one of the highlights is the St Nicholas Fair. At the market you can visit traditional chalets adorned with twinkling lights and try plenty of tempting treats.
