Petersham Nurseries will celebrate Valentine’s Day 2020 with a series of specially designed dinner menus and botanical workshops. The romantic offerings will be available at the Covent Garden sites from 14th-16th February 2020, with an exclusive Valentine’s Day supper club at the Richmond site on the evenings of the 13th and 14th of February.

Guests will be welcomed to Petersham Nurseries’ private garden greenhouse on 13th and 14th February for The Gut’s candlelit Valentine’s Day supper club (£70pp). As it is Valentine’s Day, the 10-course tasting menu has been designed by Will Hopper and acclaimed nutritionist Hannah Richard to improve heart health, as well as being an utterly romantic occasion. Each course will be cooked over an open fire amongst the herb garden, promising a romantic atmosphere, and guests can either dine all together on one table or cosy up in the candlelit nooks scattered around the greenhouse.

On 12th February, guests are invited to join the florists at the Covent Garden site to learn how to make a hand-tied bouquet

At the Covent Garden site will be a bespoke three-course dinner at The Petersham restaurant on 14th, 15th and 16th February. The specially designed menu includes indulgent plates like Lindisfarne rock oysters and a Roast loin of venison with parsnips, braised red cabbage and burnt onion, rounded off with romantic desserts like a Passion fruit pavlova or Prosecco jelly, raspberries and raspberry ripple ice cream. For an extra element of romance, guests can opt to pre-order a bottle of prosecco or a floral bouquet to the table, and a team of talented florists will be on-hand should guests wish to create a personalised bouquet for their loved one instead. The dinner is priced at £75pp, £95pp with a bottle of prosecco, and £125pp with a bottle of prosecco and bouquet.

La Goccia will put on a special Valentine’s Day menu designed for two to share. Guests can enjoy a selection of smaller, sharing plates including Beetroot Carpaccio and Padron peppers before choosing either Chargrilled Haye farm beef or Wood roasted Halibut for a main course. The romantic affair is rounded off with a Prosecco zabaglione and shortbread or a Chocolate and hazelnut pavlova with poached rhubarb. The menu is priced at £80 for two or £95 for two including a glass of prosecco.

Alongside the Valentine’s Day menus, Petersham Nurseries will also host two seasonal workshops. On 11th February, the Richmond site will be hosting an introduction to rose pruning workshop with an expert horticulturalist. The workshop will teach guests how to get the best out of their rose bushes all year round and is £40pp. On 12th February, guests are invited to join the florists at the Covent Garden site to learn how to make a hand-tied bouquet which is perfect to gift a loved one on the big day. The workshop costs £65 and includes all materials to create the take-home bouquet as well as tea, coffee and light refreshments.
