We are thrilled to announce that The Sloaney is sponsoring Oldeworlde Daniel in the Shetland Pony Grand National at this year’s London International Horse Show, which is raising funds for the Bob Champion Cancer Trust.

The Sloaney’s renowned guide to the British Social Season leads to a natural affiliation with the top events across the country and the London International Horse Show has become a highlight of the festive period.

The Shetland Pony Grand National is a popular part of the show. This year it is helping to raise funds for cancer research through its partnership with the Bob Champion Cancer Trust. Established in 1983, the Bob Champion Cancer Trust supports a key laboratory that forms part of the largest male dedicated research facility in Europe, which is situated at the Institute for Cancer Research in Surrey.

The Sloaney is pleased to support such an important cause and also to be involved with this exciting occasion. Oldeworlde Daniel will be ridden by Fleur Smith and the pair are among the lucky combinations that have been selected to compete at the London International Horse Show. Oldeworlde Daniel is trained by Isabella Bride, who runs Cherhill Shetlands. Cherhill Shetlands is based in Wiltshire and it was founded 5 years ago, with the aim of promoting and breeding quality performance ponies.

Fleur and Dan have a fantastic partnership and they have quickly become ones to watch in the world of Shetland Pony Racing. They have even bagged themselves a plane ticket to the Longines Hong Kong International Horse Show and will be jetting off to compete at this event in February.

Meanwhile, closer to home, The Sloaney team were recently able to watch Oldeworlde Daniel on the gallops. Founder of The Sloaney, Dr Laura Toogood, joined Dan, Fleur and Bella in their final training run prior to the London International Horse Show, which took place at Neil Mulholland Racing ahead of next week’s show.

Watch Dan in action and enjoy the highlights of their final gallop on Sloaney TV thanks to some wonderful footage that was captured by TTY Photography…
