Sporting legends gather in Cheltenham’s new VIP hotspot, The Green Room

The Cheltenham Festival 2018 is proving as popular as ever and there is one place in particular where sporting legends and screen stars are escaping the crowds to indulge in some banter and a flutter or two. The Green Room has become the celebrity hotspot at Cheltenham and the concept has arrived fresh to the racecourse from its origins at Twickenham.

Founded by Lawrence Dallaglio Hospitality Finder has taken on this glamorous pop-up haunt, which offers exclusive VIP hospitality, and they will be bringing it to some of Britain’s top sporting fixtures that feature in Sloaney Season. Mike Tindall is also a crucial member of the team and The Green Room has been created to offer guests a luxurious hospitality experience as well as the opportunity to mingle with famous faces.

Yesterday, we were joined in The Green Room by racing legend, AP McCoy, who started the day by sharing some tips for St Patrick’s Thursday at Cheltenham. The audience sipped champagne at their tables while McCoy was interviewed by the quick-witted Mark Durden-Smith who helped set the tone for a jolly day.

Sam Twiston-Davies also offered some insight about the race card before heading down to the parade ring to ride his selection of horses.

The lunch included chicken terrine as a starter, followed by Hereford cross beef for main and a rhubarb cheesecake for pudding. A selection of wine and spirits was available throughout the day and Afternoon Tea was welcomed before the last race. As guests dined, the intimate marquee was frequented by a high profile figures, with Lee Westwood and Harry Potter actor Oliver Phelps happily chatting to fans.

Mike’s wife, Zara Tindall, has also been popping in throughout the week. The eventing Olympian has a keen interest in the racing will no doubt pay a visit to The Green Room today for the Cheltenham Gold Cup.
