The Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials takes place this week and it is the start of Sloaney Season. The event provides top class competition at the Duke and Duchess of Beaufort’s beautiful Gloucestershire estate and there are plenty of social highlights too.

The Nyetimber Bus is one of the best places to hang out on Cross Country Day and provides excellent viewing of The Lake fence. Meanwhile, the extensive shopping village is due to welcome a whole host of lifestyle brands. This is the place to be if you want to update your country wardrobe with some chic pieces for summer and there are also plenty of delicious food stalls to enjoy during the week.

Last year there was great excitement when Michael Jung won the Rolex Grand Slam at Badminton. The Eventing maestro heads to the competition this year on the back of a recent win at the Rolex Kentucky Event, where Zara Tindall finished in 3rd place for Britain. The competition looks to be hot this year and an exciting few days are in store.

Also, be sure not to miss the exclusive coverage over at Sloaney Season, which already includes an interview with one of the top contenders and a rising star of the eventing world, Laura Collet. There is also a preview of the 2017 course as well as a style guide to help plan what to wear to Badminton Horse Trials. The weather forecast at the moment is looking good and we will be reporting live from the event, which begins on Wednesday with the presentation of the horses and riders to the judges in front of Badminton House.
