It is the season to enjoy some lovely red wine and also to experiment by adding some new bottles to your collection. Ahead of the festive period, we are turning our attention to the Domaine Bousquet Organic Gran Malbec, Gualtallary, Argentina 2021.

With hints of blackberry, spice and truffle, this wine is ideal to enjoy during the winter months and it perfectly encapsulates some of the most popular flavours of Christmas.

This red wine focuses on being organic and high-quality, which is evident as a result of its smooth texture. The Gran Malbec is made with organic grapes that come from Domaine Bousquet’s vineyards in Alto Gualtallary, Tupungato. This is one of the highest vineyards in Mendoza, which lies in the heart of Argentina’s wine country and Domaine Bousquet is 100% organic, B Corp and a leading player in sustainability. The Bousquet family originally arrived in Argentina from Carcassonne, in the South of France, and they have four generations of experience in winemaking.

The area is famous for Malbecs and this Gran Malbec is made with the estate’s hand-selected organic grapes of exceptional quality. The composition of the wine is 85% Malbec, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot and 5% Syrah. In terms of the aging process, the wine is aged in French oak barrels for 12 months.

We recommend pairing this Gran Malbec with red meat, cheese or the rich chocolate puddings that provide a perfect end to a Christmas meal.
