PIPER-HEIDSIECK launch their first ever prestige cuveé rosé champagne
Ladies love a bit of sparkle at Christmas time and I recently attended a fabulous private tasting at the Sanctum Soho Hotel to try the full range of PIPER-HEIDSIECK champagne. There were plenty of expert tips shared just in time for the party season and I have to pass some of my favourite ones onto Champagne-loving Sloaney readers.
So here are some simple tips to get the very best out of your bubbles this Christmas:
- Always make sure Champagne is served chilled, but not too cold or the aromas and flavours will be lost.
- A metal spoon in a bottle is a ‘Champagne myth’ and has no effect. If you are intending to enjoy only a glass or two, then it is best to add a good champagne stopper to your Christmas list!
- If you have an ice bucket, fill it two thirds of the way with ice, topped up with a little water, which will let the bottle chill evenly. If not, pop it back in the fridge between serving.
- A clean glass is the most important thing. Never use detergent when washing glasses, as residue sticks to glass, even if it appears to be clean and this will affect the appearance of the ‘mousse’ (bubbles). You may think your Champagne is flat when actually it’s the glass doing the damage!
Thanks to the most awarded Champagne house of the century PIPER-HEIDSIECK has made it possible to enjoy a delicious champagne present this Christmas with their beautifully designed Cuvée Brut gift pack. The PIPER-HEIDSIECK Cuvée Brut Gift Pack is available from Sainsbury’s and priced from £30. The award winning PIPER-HEIDSIECK Cuvée Brut is a classic, structured, full-bodied champagne bursting with fruit, a perfect accompaniment to Christmas celebrations.
If you are looking for the ultimate Champagne gift PIPER-HEIDSIECK have recently launched their first ever prestige cuveé rosé – The Rare Rosé Millésime 2007 – which is exclusive to Harrods and Hedonism in the UK. The Rare Rosé Millésime 2007 is the latest creation from PIPER-HEIDSIECK’s Cellar Master, Régis Camus and explodes with aromas of lychee, berries and smoked tea and elegant flavours of exotic herbs, pomegranate, vanilla, passion fruit and a dash of paprika to exceed tasting expectations.
It has taken 8 years to complete and it’s not just the champagne that is special. The Rare Rosé 2007 is presented in a special, numbered box made of lacquered black wood and rose gold metal. There are only 150 bottles of this exclusive Champagne in the UK so don’t miss out!
