If you are looking to dine alfresco in the run up to Christmas or enjoy some cocktails at an alpine-themed bar, there are some incredible winter terraces in London that can be tried this year, which are located in different parts of the city.

Whether you are looking for a cosy igloo or a fun festive terrace, here is our round-up of some that you can try over the coming weeks…


Number One Park Lane Alpine Chalet, in partnership with Moët & Chandon

As we announced recently, the Alpine Chalet, in partnership with Moët & Chandon, has launched at Number One Park Lane. This festive pop-up sees the terrace restaurant at InterContinental London Park Lane transformed into a Swiss-inspired winter chalet, perfect for cosy al fresco dinner and drinks in Mayfair this festive season.  

The beautifully crafted Alpine Chalet, complete with heaters and cosy blankets, will provide the perfect sanctuary from the chilly, bustling London streets, all whilst overlooking the Royal Parks and Wellington Arch. 


Kitchen at Holmes

If you are looking for a festive movie terrace, Kitchen at Holmes is running the secret rooftop cinema experience again this year. Nestled into Marylebone’s much beloved Baker Street, Kitchen at Holmes is a cosy neighbourhood restaurant, and this special offering will include a festive feast before heading upstairs on to the secret terrace.

Guests will be invited to snuggle into an abundance of fur throws amongst the Christmas trees and fairy lights, ready to enjoy a Christmas classic projected on a screen amongst the rooftops of Marylebone, with the option of ordering some special serves from Jameson to sip throughout the showings.

If you are considering winter terraces in London, this pop-up will be available until the 16th December, every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. It will be showing everyone’s Christmas favourites including the likes of The Holiday, Love Actually, It’s a Wonderful Life & A Miracle on 34th Street.


Jimmy’s Winter Pop Ups

Fire and Fromage is the name of the game at the cosy raclette and S’mores bar, where there are Private Dining Igloos on the South Bank. Fire and Fromage is a homage to Jimmy’s time in The Alps over the years and that unbeatable mountain hospitality.

It doesn’t get much more festive than these legendary snow globes, which are transformed into actual real-life snow globes this year with partners, Ramsbury Distillery.

With three different sittings to choose from and open seven days a week, you can indulge in the set winter dining menu that includes signature fondue with charcuterie.

There is also Chalet Suisse at Skate, Somerset House. Visitors in search of mouth-watering winter food and seasonal festive tipples need look no further than Skate this season. Nestled in Somerset House’s West Wing, Chalet Suisse by Jimmy’s Pop Up, is a cosy, magic Alpine dining experience in partnership with Switzerland Tourism, bringing the tastes of the Swiss mountains to Skate.


God’s Garden

God’s Garden is a new experiential winter garden set within the breath-taking grounds of One Marylebone Church. A cosy oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of the city, this new hidden heated hideout combines high quality food and drink with live and experiential entertainment including Saturday Après Ski Brunch Parties and Sunday Feast & Live Music in the Gardens.

The hidden courtyard, decorated with dramatic foliage, scene-setting Persian rugs, warm yellow lighting and heaters, is the ultimate new spot to unwind after work and indulge on the weekend.

Open from Wednesday – Sunday, guests can enjoy cocktails from drinks connoisseurs Soul Shakers as well as tipples from the Moët Hennessy bar which will serve signature cocktails and winter staples including the ‘Hot Angel’, Whispering Angel’s take on mulled wine.


Dalloway Terrace

Then it comes to winter terraces in London, the famous Dalloway Terrace of the Bloomsbury is a special place to visit. It plays host to a beautiful winter garden once again and this spot has grown in popularity over recent years. It combines Alpine charm and glamour, with a good selection of cocktails to get visitors in a festive spirit.


Skylight Peckham

Skylight Peckham has transformed its rooftop into a cosy winter terrace. Covered from the elements, the heated terrace is the perfect spot to enjoy London’s iconic skyline as the chillier weather arrives.

Toast to the festive season with a Mulled Gin infused with homemade spiced apple, the much-loved classic Mulled Wine, or the Chocolate Hunter, featuring velvety hot chocolate and Jägermeister Manifest.

Chef Karan has also developed a mouth-watering new menu featuring crispy halloumi with a tahini harissa sauce, delectable saffron and Ogleshield cheese arancini, and tender jerk chicken with zingy apple slaw. For dessert, decadent triple chocolate cake with vanilla chantilly and brandy snaps is the perfect sweet treat to finish.
