RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2023 Social Diary: Royalty and famous faces show support for the leading horticultural show
Members of the Royal Family and many famous faces attended the Private View of this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show, which took place on Monday. The King and Queen arrived towards the end of the afternoon for an exclusive tour of the show and they stayed for some time, while enjoying the early evening sunshine.
King Charles opted to visit the Show Gardens first, but Queen Camillia went straight to the Great Pavilion on arrival to admire the many spectacular exhibits that are on display inside. She was accompanied by members of her family. The King and Queen then joined forces for one final stroll down the Main Avenue prior to exiting the show together.
Earlier in the day, the Princess of Wales made a surprise visit to the Chelsea Flower Show to show her support for a campaign that is being run by the RHS to encourage children to become involved with gardening.
Catherine looked radiant in a stunning pink dress. She was extremely affable and relaxed during her visit. She graciously spoke to everyone nearby and spent a lot of time with the children during a picnic near the Bandstand. Her warmth and support for the initiative was much appreciated by all.
Throughout the day, many famous faces were seen enjoying the delights of this fantastic show. Jennifer Saunders was spotted at the coffee stall early on, before browsing the shopping village and the House Plant Studios. Keeley Hawes, Matthew Macfayden, Dominic West and Judi Dench were all in attendance and seen walking through the Main Avenue and viewing each of the main Show Gardens.
Alex Jones, Deborah Meaden, Charlotte Hawkins, Joanna Lumley, Nick Grimshaw, Anthea Turner and Raymond Blanc were in attendance, along with many other famous faces from the worlds of television, film, sport and business.
