The Season 2024: The Mars Badminton Horse Trials celebrates its 75th anniversary
Next week, crowds will descend upon the Cotswolds for the 75th-anniversary of the Mars Badminton Horse Trials. The event has become a highlight of the early part of the British Social Season. It was founded in 1949 and takes place on The Duke of Beaufort’s estate in Gloucestershire.
This is a popular outdoor family occasion, which offers outstanding sporting action, excellent shopping and delicious food. A stellar entry of 90 horses were announced last month for what promises to be a historic event. Riders representing 11 nations will be battling it out to win a record first prize of £117,600.
Among those competing will be the defending champion, Ros Canter. Fellow British rider, Oliver Townend, who is the world number one, is also in contention, along with leading US rider Boyd Martin and many others.
The Sloaney team will be reporting live from the event next week. If you are planning to attend, admission tickets must be bought in advance and you can click here for the Box Office.
