Christmas comes to life at Hotel Café Royal
For more than 160 years, Hotel Café Royal has been the setting for some of London’s most memorable celebrations. This Christmas, the iconic hotel will be transformed into a world of festive wonder, bringing the magic of the season to life through enchanting dining experiences, indulgent overnight stays and a spectacular new festive pop-up opening on 5th November, with further details soon to be revealed.
The gilded splendour of Café Royal Grill will provide a sumptuous setting for a new afternoon tea by Head Pastry Chef Maxence Blondelle, capturing the wonder and warmth of Christmas in each beautifully crafted creation. On Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve, the restaurant’s chef, Kevin Gratton, will present celebratory three- and four-course feasts showcasing the finest British ingredients, accompanied by Laurent-Perrier La Cuvée Brut and live music.
At Cakes & Bubbles, pastry pioneer Albert Adrià will bring his signature playfulness and precision to an indulgent collection of winter-inspired pâtisserie and desserts. Meanwhile, the Green Bar will become a glittering winter hideaway, serving cocktails inspired by the flavours of Christmas and limited-edition Courvoisier creations, with a heated terrace offering the perfect escape. The celebrations continue at Alex Dilling at Hotel Café Royal, where an exceptional menu showcases the refined French cuisine and artistry of the two-Michelin-starred restaurant.
For those seeking a moment of relaxation, Akasha Spa will offer a special package designed to provide a restorative escape from the bustle of the season.
Guests can also celebrate with two exclusive overnight experiences that grant an especially magical experience of Christmas in London. ‘The Magic of Christmas’, available for stays from 24th to 26th or 25th to 27th December, includes a two-night stay with breakfast, festive welcome amenities, stockings for adults and children, a visit from Santa on Christmas Day and lunch or dinner at Café Royal Grill with live music. Christmas Eve storytelling will also be included for those staying on 24th December. Guests will enjoy access to Akasha Spa, with the option to add a decorated Christmas tree to their room or suite or a horse-drawn carriage ride to Trafalgar Square.
For New Year’s Eve, ‘A Sparkling New Year’ offers an overnight stay on 31st December with breakfast, a bottle of Laurent-Perrier Champagne and dinner for two at Café Royal Grill. Live music, entertainment and a special midnight countdown will mark the arrival of 2027, with access to Akasha Spa completing the stay.
