As we enter the autumn months, there are some renowned events on the horizon, including the Cliveden Literary Festival. The festival was established in 2017 and, this year, it will be taking place from the 10th to the 11th of October in the beautiful surroundings of Cliveden House.

Positioned regally amid 400 acres of greenery and gardens that extend to the River Thames, Cliveden has long-been an inspiring setting for writers and intellectuals.

The Cliveden Literary Festival hosts prominent speakers from a wide range of industries for a weekend of lively debate. Previous highlights at the event have included Salman Rushdie talking to Ian McEwan about his courageous literary career.

Stars from the world of film and television often attend the weekend, with Rachel Weisz and Emily Maitlis among those who have discussed their careers during the festival. Yana Peel, the President of Arts, Culture & Heritage at CHANEL has been a key speaker and also previously co-hosted a glamorous dinner at the event, alongside Daniel Craig.

Other fascinating discussion has involved the likes of ex-MI6 chief Alex Younger and Niall Ferguson contributing their thoughts about global threats to the West, from China and Russia to Islamic extremism.

This esteemed event is a highlight of the autumn calendar and it has become known as a distinct forum for energetic discussion, innovative ideas and political debate.
