If you are looking for a break from routine or planning a trip to London, then check into the opulent Ten Manchester Street Hotel.

Blending into the Georgian side streets of Marylebone, Ten Manchester Street is reminiscent of a certain other famous Number 10. Boasting high ceilings and delicate detail, the architecture of this venue is quintessentially British and the people walking along this quiet street perhaps wouldn’t even tell it is a hotel. Inside, tells a different story and Ten Manchester Street is lavishly decorated in deep, rich hues and plush tapestries.

Guests checking into Ten Manchester Street are personally greeted at reception by friendly staff and there is a noticeable absence of computers; instead I was greeted with my reservation written on an embossed sheet of paper. Small details such as this ensure that guests experience traditional British orthodoxies.

My Junior Suite did not fail to impress. The lights slowly brightened upon my arrival to reveal all the ingredients of an upscale, city-boutique hotel room. The grand bed was neatly made with crisp, white Egyptian cotton sheets and adorned with a velvet headboard. Through a frosted glass door was the immaculate bathroom, packed with upmarket Aveda toiletries and plush ‘his and hers’ robes.

I took a moment to soak in the atmosphere, before heading down to the softly lit Ten Lounge Bar to be greeted with a champagne reception and canapés for the cocktail masterclass that was taking place. After three hours of training, drinking and socialising, I was presented with a certificate of achievement as I had officially completed a mixology trainee course. And in my eyes, this is a feat definitely worthy featuring on my CV.

Ten Manchester Street also offers a comprehensive range of hand-rolled Havana’s cigars on their Cigar Terrace and Humidor. Served by a cigar trained team, in purpose-built, cupboard humidors, means the cigars reach the guests in perfect condition. The team cut and light your cigar, leaving you to enjoy it on the relaxing all-weather outdoor terrace. They also recommend the perfect drink to match your choice of Havana. This is the perfect pre-dinner drinks spot in anticipation of a meal at Ten Lounge Restaurant.

To say I was a touch ravenous after the cocktail masterclass would be an understatement. Luckily, I was whisked away to a three course meal at the Ten Lounge Restaurant. Perched on a lush sofa, I chose my courses from the small but intense menu. Each course only has four options. I ordered the gnocchi, while my guest preferred the beef fillet. I helped myself to both and can vouch that each was equally divine.

Sleeping on sheets with an Egyptian thread count that is off the scale usually tends to leave you well rested the next morning. I felt fabulous at breakfast and was presented with a delicious spread of traditional English early morning cuisine.

I dejectedly left Ten Manchester Street hotel before noon but will definitely be returning soon, whether it’s for another Cocktail Masterclass, delicious dinner or simply to treat myself to another delightful sleep on those divine sheets. Ten Manchester Street certainly offers a perfect London getaway.
