Location, location, location! It would be hard to find a better-placed hotel in London than the latest destination launched by the Intercontinental brand. The Intercontinental in Westminster is a truly fabulous five star hotel that is situated at the heart of St James’s and a stone’s throw away from The Queen’s residence at Buckingham Palace. With Hyde Park Corner, Westminster Abbey and Parliament Square also a short distance away, this hotel is ideal for those travelling through the capital city or those who fancy an overnight treat that combines traditional finesse with the height of luxury.

The Intercontinental London is extremely luxurious

It was only a couple of months ago that The Sloaney team attended the extravagant Word in Westminster launch party to celebrate the opening of this premium retreat. With champagne corks popping, delicious canapés that included scrumptious macaroon trees, live music and big names from the world of politics mingling in the grand setting, this luxury hotel announced its arrival in style. We were very impressed even before we had the chance to venture upstairs and explore the fabulous accommodation.

Whether you are visiting for business or pleasure, this magnificent hotel does not disappoint in any aspect. As soon as your car pulls up to the entrance you will be treated like a member of the Royal Family. The butler service is impeccable and the doors are gracefully opened for you to sashay into reception. Before you know it, your bag will have been whisked up to your room as you complete the formalities of checking in. The standard of service throughout the hotel is excellent and the facilities are equally impressive.

The Blue Boar Bar

Guests are welcomed to the Blue Boar Bar, which is the place to be seen and it offers a wide selection of wines, cocktails, fine spirits and local ales. Laurent Perrier is available by the glass (and very reasonably priced) for a pre-dinner drink and the bar area is vibrant with local professionals unwinding after work. However, one of the best features of the Blue Boar is the Private Room, which can be reserved in advance. The refined décor gives you a real sense of residing in Westminster and offers the upmost privacy for an intimate gathering.

For those dining in the hotel, the Blue Boar Smokehouse houses charcoal and smoking ovens to produce rustic dishes served in a modern way. However, if you are looking to explore slightly further afield we recommend taking a short taxi ride to Pimlico and dining at La Poule au Pot, which is an authentic French restaurant. The atmosphere and cuisine is superb, especially for a romantic evening. However, if you managed a sneak peek of your room back at the hotel you will be eager to return as quickly as possible after dinner.

Both the guest rooms and suites are perfectly finished with a contemporary design and natural lighting. The Junior Suites are particularly spacious and feel like home away from home with a large living room running parallel to the luxurious bedroom area and adjoining bathroom, which includes both a bath and walk in shower. The television screens are set within mirrors and there is plenty of room to relax.

The suite will present you with a feel of utter luxury; so much so that you won’t want to leave come morning time. In fact, that goes for the whole hotel experience as the Intercontinental London Westminster wraps you up in a sense of magnificence. It is well worth spoiling yourself (and your partner) with a stay.

Reservations can be made by telephoning +44 (0) 20 3301 8080. The hotel is located at 28 Broadway, London SW1H 9JS
