Charlotte Dainton packs her bags to party with the social elite in Ibiza
The time of year is nearly upon us when the social elite flock to the paradise island of Ibiza to party around the clock as some of the world’s best exclusive clubs welcome the start of a new season. The Sloaney team will be attending some of the most extravagant parties on the calendar under the guidance of our glamorous correspondent, Charlotte Dainton. The model and RADA trained actress will be taking a well-earned break from filming and here she shares her tips for party goers jetting off soon…
“I am so excited about the start of the season in Ibiza this year; time and time again it proves to be one of Europe’s elite social destinations. The opening parties are packed with celebrity faces, everyone looks extremely chic and the music is out of this world.
With so many parties to choose from, I have selected a couple of my favourite openings that readers of The Sloaney should not miss. Top of the list of events that I will attend is the opening of El Lio, which takes place this Thursday. This is one of the ultimate A-list occasions and some of the world’s biggest stars will attend. The venue is very exclusive and the opening party is a chic affair. It is one of the best places to eat on the island and the cabaret restaurant features dramatic views of the Ibiza Town.
If you are on the guest list for this party then I suggest embracing a sense of summer elegance by wearing a floaty dress such as the Ada cotton-macramé dress by Chloe (£2,780) and giving yourself some supermodel height in statement Belstaff wedges (£895).
Two days later is Ushuaia‘s opening and the main DJ will be Luciano. This is the time to unpack a stylish monokini from your suitcase and make it the focus of your outfit. I will be wearing Ocean Black by Posche (£115), which is a brand new swimwear line. Posche is taking pre-orders now and will fully launch in June. I will cover up in a sheer dress and accessorise with a pair of large designer sunglasses and a Chanel bag.
If you are visiting the island for more than a few days, I recommend you sample dinner at Sushipoint. A charity polo game will take place at Ibiza Polo Club on the 8th of June and celebrities such as James Blunt are expected to attend. I will also be taking friends out on a boat to visit Formentera, which is renowned for its pristine beaches and fish. Here we will enjoy a leisurely lunch and a swim in the crystal clear waters surrounding the island.”
