The launch of the Waterford Contemporary Collection by Jo Sampson at B&B Italia
Last week I attended the launch of Waterford’s new contemporary collection, which has been designed by award-winning British designer, Jo Sampson. The plush event was hosted at B&B Italia in South Kensington. Guests were welcomed with a glass of Pommery Champagne, which was presented in a beautifully cut Waterford flute and hinted towards the other impressive creations that would be previewed throughout the evening.
I have always admired Waterford for their elegant but also strong designs. While I try to limit my airport shopping, I once remember flying from Dublin airport and buying a set of six wine glasses that I simply couldn’t resist. Even though they are more than a few years old now, they have maintained their appeal and always attract complements during dinner parties. It is the weight of the glasses that seems to impress and this alone speaks volumes about the quality of the products.
The latest Waterford collection certainly did not disappoint. As the champagne flowed, delicious canapés were served to admirers of Jo Sampson’s creations. Many of the designs have a contemporary feel and utilise various lighting schemes by positively shimmering.
