Highlights of the British Summer Social Calender
The launch for this year’s event took place in the opulent surroundings of the Mandarin Oriental in Knightsbridge. A thrilling video played in the background as guests sipped Pommery Champagne before chatting to some of the dashing players. It was a wonderful reminder of exactly why you should not miss this event at the Hurlingham Club.
Hopefully you have already blocked out this week in your social diary. On arrival at the world-renowned race meet, you should treat yourself to champagne and strawberries as part of a traditional picnic in the car park. Then it is time to venture inside the Royal Enclosure and watch some of the action trackside, or reside in the luxurious surroundings of a box.
Wimbledon always attracts a glamorous crowd with the Duchess of Cambridge and Pippa Middleton rarely missing the event. Considering the tournament spans two weeks, there is plenty of opportunity to attend and watch some world class tennis whilst socialising with friends.
July starts with the Henley Royal Regatta, which is probably the best known regatta in the world. This famous social and sporting occasion is showcased to its best when the sun shines. Guests can sip Pimm’s by the river and enjoy the rowing, whilst soaking up the ambiance.
One of the hottest tickets in town this summer is to attend Lord’s for the second Investec Ashes Series Test match. This event is sold out; however if you manage to get your hands on a golden pass you are sure to be the envy of everyone.
