Need a personal trainer? Try a furry friend as the Kennel Club launches ‘Get Fit with Fido’
The Kennel Club has launched a new initiative that will help you – and your pooch – tone up together. The Get Fit with Fido Challenge was inspired by research undertaken by the club that revealed 50% of dog owners believe their pet encourages them to become more active.
So, if you are looking for a personal trainer, then look no further than your furry friend with paws! Especially seeing as it has now been proven that your shared early morning and late evening walks are paying off by working as a great incentive to help keep you fit. This latest campaign by the Kennel Club is supported by two keen sportswomen; Olympian, Sharron Davies, and fitness guru, Rosemary Conley.
Whether it is a short burst of exercise through the city streets, a visit to the beach, or a long amble through rugged countryside, when your dog searches for its lead and greets a workout with a woof of excitement, there is no doubt this helps with motivation. However, if you want to add some variety to your fitness regime, there are a number of clubs around the country that offer classes such as agility and heelwork to music.
