The Sloaney were thrilled to be one of the first to break the news this evening that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have welcomed a son into the world.

The couple’s son was delivered at the private Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington with his proud father, Prince William, by Catherine’s side. The baby is healthy and his mother is reported to be doing well. Prince William says, “We could not be happier”. Prince Charles has remarked that he is “overjoyed at the arrival of my first grandchild” and “proud”. The Queen and Prince Philip are “delighted”.

Thunder was crackling as Kate went into labour and a full moon is now in the sky. It is also a day of record summer temperatures in Great Britain. Tomorrow there will be a 41 gun salute from Green Park and a 62 gun salute from the Tower of London.
