Listen up Ladies! Whether you are attending a wedding this summer, hitting the race season in style or planning a sophisticated outfit for Henley, finding a striking hat or fascinator will be top of your list. Plenty of people have griped about the difficulties of sourcing a suitable hat in London and we are therefore delighted to bring you news of an exciting new venture.

Two journalists from the Racing Post have collaborated with a friend to launch London’s ultimate hat hire destination. The Hat Club has a plethora of beautiful pieces available and it has just opened for business ahead of the Investec Derby and Royal Ascot.

The studio is located near Putney Bridge and offers hand-picked designs from some of the top names in millinery. Gina Foster designs are available alongside some up-and-coming milliners such as Juliette Millinery, Bundle MacLaren, Rosie Olivia, Laura Cathcart and Emily London.

Harriet Collins is one of the partners involved with the launch of The Hat Club and explained to The Sloaney the reasons behind the concept, “Last year all three of us wanted to wear a really stunning hat but couldn’t find anything suitable or within our price range. There also seemed to be a limited number of options to hire in London.” Rather than continue in despair the three ladies collaborated to begin the journey of creating a new hat studio, “We thought we should put our money where our mouth is and do it ourselves.”

The trio have answered many prayers by doing just that and they also offer a bespoke styling service to help you make the right choice when considering the selection. With the benefit of knowing the racing industry inside out, The Hat Club offers a fantastic ‘Pick Up and Drop Off’ service for both the Derby and Ascot. This is extremely useful as it means you can leave your hat safely with The Hat Club before heading out for dinner and drinks at the end of the day.

As our Twitter followers will know, The Sloaney’s Social Correspondent Katie Ann Lamb visited the studio this week with our Editor, Laura Toogood, to find the perfect hat for Royal Ascot. Normally a tough task, this time the trouble was deciding which fabulous creation to wear as there are so many head-turning pieces on show.
