Join the Art Crawl: An invitation to readers of The Sloaney
Every now and then it’s a real pleasure to tell readers of The Sloaney about things that we reporters are doing. I’d like to share a warm invite to my Art Crawl on Wednesday 18 September, the first in a brand new series of events I’m organising for Art Collectors London.
Art Crawls are a fun new way to discover art in a relaxed social setting and meet new people who share your passion for creativity. We visit 3 galleries in one night with exclusive access to the heart of London’s art scene, talks, offers on art purchases, free tickets to art events and more.
This month we’re kicking off at 7pm in Curious Duke, a fantastic space on Whitecross Street with a solo show featuring the stunning paintings of Aztec beauties by Hannah Adamaszek. I will be giving a short talk with tips on art collecting followed by an introduction to the works on view by gallery director Eleni Duke in the presence of the artist. There will be time to explore the whole exhibition before we move on to visit another two galleries in the Old Street area, followed by drinks at one of Shoreditch’s finest bars for those who want to stay and chat.
For this launch event, Curious Duke Gallery have kindly offered an exclusive discount of 5% on art purchases on the night and 5% on online purchases for the rest of the week. ACL members and readers of The Sloaney will also receive a free ticket to Battersea Affordable Art Fair in October.
So what exactly is Art Collectors London? We’re a social meet-up group for anyone with an interest in buying art, from beginners to experienced collectors. Whether you’re thinking about acquiring your first original piece, or you’d like to scout out exciting new artists for your growing collection, this is the group for you.
So join us for the first of these very exciting monthly arty tours – I’d be thrilled to see you there.
Art Crawl tickets cost £10 inclusive of drinks and nibbles. To guarantee your place, sign up to the event on www.artcollectorslondon.co.uk
