Flute Bar and Lounge arrives in London…and launches a monthly Champagne School!
Here in London, we were feeling a little left out of the Flute family. With venues in New York and Paris, this opulent venue is certainly a first choice for a chic evening out. Thankfully the Champagne bar and lounge has decided to open its doors in the British capital. Discreetly located on Great Portland Street, the latest addition to the Flute network boasts a menu of over 100 champagnes, including some tantalising sparkling cocktails.
The plush basement bar features lavish décor, including several screens that imitate the glow of a live fire. Cosy booths cater for both couples and also larger parties, and you can’t help but feel at home in the intimate setting.
Those with a serious interest in Champagne will no doubt be intrigued by Flute’s Champagne School, which takes place one Saturday a month. The Sloaney recently attended the informative evening to sample a selection of Blanc de Noirs Champagnes. Three vintages were served and accompanied by suitable canapés, whilst knowledgeable experts guided us through the background of each bottle. The Champagne Schools are particularly popular and attract a welcoming crowd.
The next event takes place on the 12th of May and features Rose Champagnes. Other highlights on the calendar include the Vintage Champagne School (16th June) and the Prestige Cuvee Champagne evening, which completes the run of events in December.
Whether you are interested in attending the Champagne School, or simply fancy a glass of bubbles after a long day browsing the shops in nearby Bond Street, Flute Bar and Lounge is an enticing venue. Those ladies who have a ‘Champagne for Life’ card or app can enjoy a complementary glass of fizz on arrival.
