Celebrities and fashionistas swap their clothes at Ecover’s ‘Swish’ in Shoreditch House
Last week, The Sloaney team attended the Ecover Swish event hosted at private members’ club, Shoreditch House. Some of London’s most fashion-forward females were in attendance, including the likes of the stunning Laura Whitmore, Jasmine Guinness and Cheska Hull. Guests enjoyed a feast of nibbles, champagne and a clothes swap. The event was inundated with a host of new items from the likes of House of Fraser, Biba, Jonathan Aston and Damsel in a Dress. All attendees brought along pieces from their own wardrobe to exchange them for some fabulous new finds – Eco-fabulous recycling at its best.
In the UK alone, nearly 2 million tonnes of clothing and shoes go to landfill sites every year. This represents nearly 4% of all the waste in Britain that is sent to landfill annually; a trend repeated around the world. So, why contribute to this by dumping your clothes when you can swap a frock with the city’s best designers, stylists, models and fashionably fabulous women?
Ecover Swish was held to raise awareness and funds for the human trafficking charity project Fashioned for Freedom, in association with the Ecover ‘Wear & Care’ campaign. Ecover’s campaign helps to educate on the importance of looking after your clothes in the kindest and easiest way possible, whilst still looking extremely stylish.
I left the event with a gorgeous new leather jacket, a pair of designer jeans and even one of Ms. Whitmore’s fabulous skirts. What’s more, any garments left over from the Swish event were donated to House of Beth.
The evening was a tremendous success and boasted a chic guest list, plenty of good finds and champagne on tap at one of London’s most fashionable venues.
Stay tuned to The Sloaney to find out when the next ‘Swish’ will take place, so you can clothes swap with the stars.
