Cinnamon Soho presents a mix of traditional British dishes, infused with Indian spices
A stone’s throw from Regent Street and the cobbles of Carnaby Street, Cinnamon Soho is discreetly located on the atmospheric Kingly Street. Offering an intriguing menu that boasts traditional British dishes infused with Indian spices, this charming restaurant is particularly appealing for a spot of lunch or a pre-theatre bite to eat.
The eclectic mix of spices is not only prominent in the food menu, but the signature cocktails all offer a quirky twist. For example, Bhangra Bubbles combines Rum and Chambord with homemade spiced syrup. A splash of champagne gives this tipple an invigorating finish. Burning with Passion is just as appealing with Vodka over proof rum, fresh orange juice, passion furit and strawberry puree, leaving a sweet and tropical taste.
Once you have sampled the cocktail menu, the dishes that follow are inviting for those who are hardened fans of Indian cuisine and also those who have a more tentative palette. The seared seabass is presented with a tandoor roasted aubergine crush and provides a mild level of spice, meanwhile the Tandoori king prawns are presented with an Alleppey curry sauce.
The theme of combining Indian spices with traditional dishes continues for the desert menu. Highlights include a chocolate, chilli, white chocolate and cardamom goli, as well as the mango and cardamom brulee.
Cinnamon Soho presents and interesting menu and is definitely worth a visit if you need a break from browsing the busy shopping streets that lie nearby.
