London is always so magical during the festive season and we have discovered a beautiful winter wonderland, which you simply must visit in the run up to Christmas. The Dalloway Terrace at The Bloomsbury has been transformed into an enchanting destination for the colder months ahead.

The snow covered terrace features frosted branches and a beautiful Christmas tree, with sheepskin rugs and outdoor heaters provided to make sure guests stay nice and warm while enjoying the beautiful setting.

It feels as though you are tucked away in the mountains at this snowy retreat and this is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of champagne with friends or indulge in afternoon tea. Hot water bottles and complimentary shots of Génépi liqueur are even offered to perfect the atmosphere.

We visited Dalloway Terrace to try the scrumptious Pierre Marcolini afternoon tea. Packed with delicious treats, this afternoon tea is heavenly for chocoholics and anyone with a sweet tooth. Most will recognise Pierre Marcolini as one of the best chocolatiers in the world and he has built a reputation of producing some of the finest chocolate in Europe.

The afternoon tea can begin with a sparkling toast and Perrier-Jouet is the house champagne. The extensive tea collection includes English chamomile and peppermint teas alongside intriguing international blends such as the Sri Lankan Lemongrass and South African Wild Rooibos. The latter is a particularly impressive infusion of red berries and cedar.

However, the highlight of the afternoon tea experience is the delicious menu of sweet and savoury treats. Cornish ham and mustard, egg and watercress, smoked salmon and crab are among the sandwiches presented, with a festive touch brought by the smoked turkey and cranberry brioche. The freshly basked scones that follow are warm and delicious.

The climax of the afternoon tea lies in the Pierre Marcolini sweets. You should save space for the macaron of the month, mini chocolates, Christmas pudding dome and caramel chocolate slice, which are accompanied by some other yummy mini-puddings.

If you want to book a special winter treat for a loved one or enjoy a mid-afternoon break from Christmas shopping, we highly recommend visiting Dalloway Terrace at some point in the coming weeks. You will be inspired by the beautiful décor at the festive haven and the menus offer everything you could desire during the holiday season.
