With its rather fabulous location, which sees Sloane Street and the high-end boutiques in Belgravia such as Christian Louboutin right on the doorstep, it is little wonder that visiting the Jumeirah Carlton Tower for Afternoon Tea during the Christmas shopping season has become somewhat of a tradition for The Sloaney team.

Sloane Street: Afternoon Tea is well deserved following Christmas Shopping

Aside from the fact that it is nestled among a cluster of alluring luxury stores, the other huge appealing factor is the special festive menu that features a delicious selection of treats. Christmas Afternoon Tea is the perfect way to end a long day of gift shopping and it also gives you something fun to enjoy once you have finished browsing Harrods, Harvey Nichols or the other designer stores nearby.

With a live harpist playing elegant music as you arrive, ‘A Very Berry Christmas’ Afternoon Tea is an atmospheric occasion that you can enjoy following Black Friday and throughout the month of December.  Eric Lanlard has created the menu and worked closely with the hotel’s Executive Chef Simon Young. This year’s selection is different to last year but is just as delicious and possibly even better!

‘A Very Berry Christmas’ begins with delicious festive options

The first serving consists of an incredible salmon and lobster cracker, which is so delicate that it almost melts in your mouth. It is presented alongside a stilton, fig and walnut tart with port jelly droplets and another particularly festive option of cranberry and orange bread with roast turkey, sage and onion stuffing.

If you would like to extend your savoury experience, it is possible to request extra servings; however, be careful not to spoil your appetite as the sweet selection and warm scones are very filling. The sweets feature a delicious deconstructed Christmas cake that includes a splash of brandy. A mandarin napoleon tart is also served, alongside a beautiful filled chocolate candle that almost looks too good to eat!

The Afternoon Tea is an idea Christmas treat

Freshly baked scones with clotted cream and jam complete the experience and combining pink champagne with your favourite tea is definitely advised in regards to beverage choices. This is a wonderful experience that is well-worth weaving into your holiday season traditions.
