Need a non-surgical facial that gets results? Dr. Malik is answer, writes Natasha Eddery

We all want to have the best skin possible, but lately it seems the only solution, and trend, is injectables. Although it is the ‘done look,’ my goal is to find needleless, holistic treatments that can achieve healthy, luminous skin and are anti-aging, too. Once again I turned to the fabulous Grace Medical, but this time it was not for acupuncture…

New to Grace Belgravia’s impressive medical team is Dr. Rabia Malik, a Cosmetic Doctor and General Practitioner who qualified in 2004 from GKT- Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Medical School, King’s College, London. Dr Malik’s fascination in skin led her to complete an attachment in dermatology at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Hospital in the USA.

Now, based in London, Dr. Malik specialises in aesthetic medicine and provides non-surgical facial rejuvenation and problem skin solutions. It is her objective to bridge the gap between conventional treatments and surgical procedures in order to provide her patients with minimum downtime and maximum results. Her treatment packages include chemical peels, mesotherapy, medical grade dermaroller/mirconeedling, LED light therapy and intraceuticals oxygen infusions that aim to achieve the best skin possible.

Part of the reason I returned to Grace was due to a bad experience at another salon. While the treatment I went for was said to be a dynamic non-invasive facial that leaves skin lifted and tightened, I personally found it a harrowing experience. For weeks my skin was extremely dry, inflamed, I had breakouts and my daily skincare was causing irritation. Not only did I need to see a specialist who could help restore my skin to health and vitality, but I also had the daunting task of changing my skincare.

Grace Medical booked me in for Dr. Malik’s Skin Therapy Express Medi-Facial. This 30-minute treatment is said to repair, replenish, and exfoliate the skin. While it is ideal for those with sensitive skin, the facial is also used to treat acne, hyper pigmentation, ageing and rosacea. During the treatment Dr. Malik uses a skincare range called Skin Therapy by Julia T. Hunter. These non-toxic, non-inflammatory skin products are intensely powerful to produce the most visible results possible while also helping protect, prevent, correct and repair all skin types and conditions.

Serum

The customised serum

During my consultation I discussed my diet, lifestyle, skincare regime and, of course, my recent mishap with the treatment at another salon. The treatment began with a thorough cleanse which is followed by an exfoliating light peel mask. However, as my skin was so unbalanced and inflamed, Dr. Malik thought it best to bypass the peel and move straight onto the application of a customised serum blend to meet my skin’s specification. The facial left my skin feeling nourished, soothed, with no irritation.

As my skin responded so well to the treatment, Dr. Malik suggested I try the Skin Therapy Cleanser, Serum and SPF 30 Sun Protection & Repair (All available to purchase from Grace Medical). Just one week after using the products, my skin was resorted to a healthy, even complexion.

While the range is superb, and unlike anything I have tested before, it is also imperative that you heal yourself from the inside out. The skin is the last place in the body to get nutrients, so it is very important to eat a balanced, healthy diet as well as and using non-toxic, high performance products.

Whatever your skin problem, or if you are looking for advice on effective skincare and anti-ageing nutrition, Dr Rabia Malik will create your ultimate bespoke skin solution.
